To mark The Gambia’s re-entry to the Commonwealth in February 2018, a Time Limited Programme of awards was launched to support eight additional Scholarships for students from The Gambia; seven Master’s degrees and one PhD.
Our Gambian scholars were studying the following subjects:
PhD:
- Analytical Chemistry
Master’s:
- Public Health
- Tropical Medicine
- Public Health for Development
- Development Administration and Planning
- Biomedical Science
- Infectious Diseases
- International Project Management
The Programme was supported by the Gambian High Commission in the UK and the British High Commission in The Gambia.
In addition, Gambian citizens were selected for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship programme and the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship programme. They joined us on these schemes to study; Clinical Optometry, Diplomatic Studies and Carbon Management.
All applicants applied through the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology in The Gambia.
