Designing and implementing a carbon project
In this webinar, Lilian explored the role of carbon finance projects in delivering positive outcomes for economies and contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Lilian began by explaining the fundamentals of a carbon project, which can have a range of outcomes but at a basic level must provide climate mitigation or adaptation solutions to communities. She also examined the various globally recognised tools to implement carbon asset projects such as the Gold Standard process. Finally, in light of the COP28 climate summit, Lilian discussed government commitments to cut global emissions, and the opportunities for the private sector to conduct their own stocktake of carbon emissions.
This webinar presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session with Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni. A recording of this webinar is available to view on the CSC’s YouTube channel where you can also watch previous events in the series.
