Regional Network Coordinators

Pankhuri Jain (London)

Pankhuri Jain is a Commonwealth Shared Scholar from India with a background in Public Policy and Global Health. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Kirori Mal College and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy, Design, and Management from the Indian School of Public Policy. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s in Global Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Pankhuri previously served as a World Bank Consultant, where she collaborated with the Government of Meghalaya, designing and implementing programs aimed at improving adolescent health and well-being. Earlier, she worked as a Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament, focusing on urban development and public health issues, particularly in the North-East and mountainous regions of India. Through parliamentary mechanisms such as Question Hour and Zero Hour, she helped bring critical regional issues to national attention.

As the Regional Network Coordinator for Commonwealth Scholars in the London Region, Pankhuri is committed to fostering a sense of community, enhancing the well-being of Commonwealth Scholars, and organizing networking and engagement activities tailored to their academic and professional growth.

 

George Wanjiru (Cambridge)

George Gitau Wanjiru is a Commonwealth Scholar from Kenya studying for a Master’s in Population Health Sciences at the University of Cambridge.  

As the Project Lead for “Kicking Superbugs out of our Food,” George, has guided the enhancement of food safety to mitigate Food-Borne Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) among street food vendors in Nairobi. 

George also coordinates an AMR Ambassadors Program at Jomo Kenyatta University, integrating AMR studies into the curriculum. His work with organisations such as Hope for Africa and Medical Missions Africa showcases his dedication to fundraising and supporting underprivileged populations to promote their wellbeing and development. 

In his role as Regional Network Coordinator for Commonwealth Scholars in the Cambridge Region, he hopes to continue to advocate for the overall well-being of the Commonwealth Scholars Community and promoting networking through various student-tailored activities.

 

Christiana Nyanta Gyambibi (South East)

Christiana Nyanta Gyambibi is a Commonwealth Shared Scholar from Ghana studying for a master’s in environmental management for Business at Cranfield University.  

Christiana studied Land Economy at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, where she graduated with First Class Honors. Her passion for sustainability, particularly in real estate and land economy, stems from her academic background and professional experiences in property management and environmental stewardship.  

Christiana is actively involved in several sustainability-focused initiatives, such as the Green Ghana Project. Additionally, she worked as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at KNUST, where she mentored students in Real Estate Finance, Valuation, and Financial Mathematics and contributed to research on land administration and commercial rent dynamics.  

In 2023, Christiana was recognised for her outstanding academic performance, being named one of the top students of her graduating class. Her leadership extends beyond academics, having headed the Media and Publicity team for the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG), as well as organizing community service and environmental awareness campaigns. These accomplishments highlight her commitment to driving positive change in both local and global contexts. Driven by a commitment to community well-being and the “Give Back to Society” agenda, she brings expertise in research, data analysis, and strategic planning to every project she undertakes.
