Professor Kawuma Medi (Commonwealth Academic Fellow, Bristol Eye Hospital) has taken up the post of Assistant Deputy Vice- Chancellor (in charge of Hospital Based Academics and Services) at Ishaka Teaching Hospital, Kampala International University, Uganda.
Dr Doris N Onwukaeme has been promoted to Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at the University of Benin, Nigeria.
Dr Milika Sobey (Commonwealth Scholar, PhD, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Essex) has taken up the post of Water Programme Coordinator at the International Union for Conservation of Nature, Fiji.
Professor D C R A Goonetilleke (Commonwealth Scholar, PhD in English Literature, University of Leicester) has recently published a second edition of Salman Rushdie (London and New York: Palgrave Macmillan, 2010), updated and expanded with four new chapters and a new conclusion. He has also recently published Kaleidoscope: An Anthology of Sri Lankan English Literature, Volume II (Colombo: Vijitha Yapa, 2010), edited with an introduction.
