Welcome Home Event

Welcome home recently returned Commonwealth Scholars from India!

This event will provide an opportunity to welcome home recently returned Commonwealth Scholars from India following their studies in the UK and introduce them to the local alumni network.

This is an opportunity for recently returned Scholars to make valuable connections with fellow Commonwealth Alumni who could provide guidance and support towards achieving professional and developmental goals. Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the workshop, Pause, Breathe and Relax: Tools for Wellbeing, delivered by Commonwealth Alumnus, Dr Charru Sharma (2012 Academic Fellow).

The event will coincide with the publication of the 2nd edition of the Indian National Alumni Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows UK (ACSF) newsletter and will be followed by a high tea and networking.

Dr Charru Sharma is a 2012 Commonwealth Academic Fellow and Fulbright Visiting Faculty at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania. She has worked as an Officiating Principal of a college and as an Associate Professor of Human Development and Childhood Studies at the University of Delhi.

Dr Sharma has conducted over 50 international workshops and delivered lectures globally. She has also been conferred the associate membership of the Taos Institute, USA, and is on the editorial board of several international journals. Dr Sharma completed a Compassion Integrity Training course and is a certified Yogasanas, Pranayam and Meditation instructor. She is trained in acupressure and is a certified Reiki practitioner. She enjoys practicing Vipassana meditation, and mindfulness.
