We are pleased to announce the return of the CSC residential workshops for Commonwealth Scholars which will be held at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park in April and May 2022.

Maximising your Impact: training for development

The residential workshops on Maximising your Impact: training for development aim to strengthen the links between academic insight and development impact, and support Scholars on their journey to becoming leaders in sustainable development. The workshops will feature a mixed programme of plenary sessions, large group discussions, and small team and individual activities with a focus on contemporary issues in development and skills training for achieving impact through research and future career activities.

The opening residential workshop will be held from the 1-3 April 2022 for Commonwealth Scholars studying at master’s level. We look forward to welcoming 48 Scholars to the workshop which will include special plenary sessions on integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in research and practice and using Theory of Change to maximise leadership and impact.

The second residential workshop for Commonwealth Scholars studying at doctoral level will be held between the 30 May and 1 June 2022 with a special plenary session on the drivers, challenges, and politics of global development goals.

Networking and reflection in the heart of Windsor Great Park

Situated in the beautiful surroundings of Windsor Great Park, Cumberland Lodge is a 17th-century, former royal residence which became an educational foundation in 1947 and is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. As a charity, Cumberland Lodge seeks to ‘promote thought leadership, collaboration, and fresh ideas that support [its] vision of more peaceful, open, and inclusive societies’ and has welcomed Commonwealth Scholars for workshops and events for a number of years.

With plenty of opportunities for walking, wildlife spotting, and leisure activities, the CSC residential workshop at Cumberland Lodge offers Scholars the chance to exchange ideas, reflect on how their work can make a difference in the world, and engage with fellow Scholars in a relaxing and tranquil setting.
