Accelerating towards net-zero: How can we reach our climate action ambitions?
In this webinar, Commonwealth Alumnus Dr Kapil Narula will discuss the global efforts to raise ambition in climate action and present pathways for accelerating the pace towards net-zero goals. Using case studies and examples, Dr Narula will emphasise the need for stronger political will, increased public engagement, and alignment of national policies with science-based targets.
Dr Narula’s webinar will discuss climate finance, transparent accountability mechanisms, the urgency of closing the implementation gap between pledges and action, and efforts from governments and businesses to move beyond incremental change toward transformative solutions. The webinar will also explore how innovation, cross-sectoral collaboration and inclusive governance can drive more ambitious climate outcomes.
Dr Narula will highlight the need to call for collective leadership to achieve our climate goals, reinforcing that raising ambition is not only necessary but possible when grounded in cooperation, equity and science-based planning.
This webinar will address the CSC development theme, Strengthening resilience and response to crisis.
