More than 60 alumni attended a day-long event held at the Hotel Sarina, Dhaka on 22 February. The meeting had an interactive format, and started with a networking skills development session, led by Robin Davies (Director Partnership & Programmes, British Council Bangladesh). This was followed by a presentation from the South Asia CSFP Regional Manager, Towhidur Rahman giving an overview of CSC alumni associations and their activities in neighbouring countries.
In the afternoon, alumni were divided into groups to spend time considering the formation and purpose of a CSC alumni association in Bangladesh. The groups then shared their views to formulate a common plan for the future association.
Alumni were keen to include professional development, academic collaboration with UK institutions and input into wider policy within Bangladesh as part of future association activities. A group of 15 volunteered agreed to work on the proposal development as part of the process of formally establishing the association.
