Understanding the teaching-learning crisis

In this webinar, Siddharth discussed the opportunities and challenges of improving education service delivery in crisis settings.

Globally, there is an emergency in children’s education with access to quality learning opportunities and materials being affected by rising levels of conflict. In this webinar, Siddharth highlighted the ways in which teachers and coaches can improve teaching methods and practices, even in low-resource settings, backed by data-driven interventions and targeted support. To illustrate this, he discussed examples from his own experience of changing instructional practices at scale in Afghanistan and Sierra Leone.

This webinar presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session with Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni. A recording of this webinar is available to view on the CSC’s YouTube channel where you can also watch previous events in the series.

After the webinar, attendees were invited to network with fellow attendees to further discuss the webinar topic, exchange ideas and knowledge, seek out collaborators for their own work, and promote their research.
