On Wednesday 15 May, the CSC Alumni Team hosted the CSC webinar on, using feminist evaluation to shift power dynamics in international cooperation initiatives, delivered by Commonwealth Alumnus Carol Miller.

About the speaker 

Carol is a long-time gender equality activist, researcher, and evaluator. She is a Senior Associate, and past Co-Executive Director, of Gender at Work, an international feminist knowledge network, where she leads on monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL).  

Carol Miller is a 1986 Commonwealth Scholar from Canada. She completed a MSc in Political Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  

Using feminist principles in evaluating advocacy projects 

In this webinar, Carol shared insights from her work as an evaluation expert contributing to programmes focused on women’s rights and gender equality.  

She discussed the importance of adapting feminist principles in evaluation practice to achieve social justice and equity. Having worked with government agencies and international NGOs, Carol highlighted how incorporating feminist perspectives in ongoing advocacy work has helped in power shift and promoting voices of local women to advance positive change.
