Investigating the links between climate change on health
Climate change has been identified as the biggest health threat of the 21st century and impacts millions of people around the world. Rising temperatures and extreme weather events such as flooding, droughts, and heat waves, can significantly affect the health of people.
This workshop will provide an opportunity for Commonwealth Alumni across Nigeria and Sierra Leone to network and discuss the detrimental effects of climate change to health. The workshop will address the CSC development theme, Strengthening resilience and response to crises.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Raise awareness of climate change at the grassroots level
- Address strategies designed to avert health risks caused by climate change
- Identify policies addressing climate action in Nigeria and Sierra Leone
- Contribute towards the CSC development theme, Strengthening resilience and response to crises
- Promote the expertise of Commonwealth Alumni and highlight the ways in which they are making valuable contributions to sustainability issues nationally and globally
