Celebrating 65 years of Commonwealth Scholarships in Uganda
As part of a wider programme of celebrations to mark 65 years of Commonwealth Scholarships in Uganda, the Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships Alumni Association of Uganda (CSFAAU) will host an event to engage policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders to discuss girls’ education in Uganda.
Through a panel discussion, CSFAAU seeks to document novel approaches, achievements and gaps in girls’ education to date and to identify possible interventions to inform policy and practice for effective implementation. The discussion will bring together Commonwealth Alumni alongside representatives from the Ministry of Education and other government departments, civil society organisations, UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and NGOs.
The key aims of this event are to:
- Create a platform for sharing evidence and practice to support and advance girls’ education
- Provide an avenue for networking, learning and collating achievements and gaps in girls’ education
- Celebrate 65 years of Commonwealth Scholarships and development impact in Uganda by amplifying their contribution to higher education for women and girls in Uganda
- Recognise the outstanding contribution of female Commonwealth Alumni and those working in fields related to gender
This will be shared with registered attendees.
