Celebrating International Women’s Day and Commonwealth Day 2024
To mark International Women’s Day and Commonwealth Day 2024, the Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association- Uganda (CSFAA-Uganda) will host a panel discussion on ‘Investing in Women to Accelerate Progress’. The panel topic will also address the 2024 Commonwealth Day theme, ‘One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’.
The association will also launch their new website during this event to enhance ways Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni from Uganda can connect.
In this panel discussion, Commonwealth Alumni will recognise and celebrate the achievements made by female Commonwealth Alumni in Uganda and policies and strategies to accelerate opportunities for women.
Objectives of the panel discussion are to:
- Explore ways in which a resilience and common future can drive gender and social inclusion.
- Discuss the importance of protecting gender-responsive financing at a time when 75% of countries are expected to curb public spending.
- Increase awareness of the ways in which women’s human rights are disproportionately impacted by current economic systems.
This event is led by the Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association- Uganda (CSFAA-Uganda)with support from the British Council Uganda on behalf of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC).
