‘Choosing your career path, Harnessing a bright future’
Galena Interns supports students’ education at lower and higher secondary levels and at tertiary institutions. Through the Uganda Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association (UCSFAA), the British Council in Uganda has partnered with Galena Interns to deliver a career guidance session under the theme, ‘Choosing your career path, Harnessing a bright future’.
The event will bring together approximately 1,500 students representing 10 schools and 5 universities in the Kampala and Wakiso Districts. Key aims of the session include:
- Providing career guidance to secondary and university students
- Promoting Commonwealth Scholarship opportunities to potential future applicants
- Mentoring students through career guidance and promoting the importance of careers that will support development impact
Commonwealth Alumni will facilitate career guidance talks and lead focus group sessions with secondary school students on their career choices. They will also discuss further higher education opportunities for university students soon to complete their degrees and those looking for further study opportunities.
