Turning barriers into possibilities
In this webinar, Commonwealth Scholar Stephen Ojwan’g will discuss his master’s research project on the development of parasports in Kenya. Stephen aims to formulate interventions and solutions to the common constrains limiting elite and grassroot sports participation for persons with disability in developing countries such as Kenya.
This webinar will address the CSC development theme, Access, inclusion and opportunity.
The webinar will last for approximately one hour, including a Q&A session.
The CSC’s Development in Action webinar series provides an opportunity for Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni to present on their work and contribution to development across a range of contemporary global challenges and provide insight into ongoing research and action.
Open to all Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni, the monthly webinars will address one of the CSC’s six development themes and provide an opportunity for attendees to engage in real-time Q&A discussion on the topic presented.

Stephen Ojwan’g is passionate about diversity and inclusion through sports, sport development, and the broader social impact of sport. Prior to his Scholarship, Stephen worked as a parasports coach with the Kenyan special schools, Kenya special Olympics, and the Kenya Paralympics. He also served as a focal point and member of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) sub-committee for the Commonwealth Youth Sport for Development and Peace Network (CYSDP).
Stephen Ojwan’g is a 2021 Commonwealth Scholar from Kenya. He is completing his MSc in Adapted Sport at the University of Worcester.
