The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is seeking to appoint three new Commissioners to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC). The Commission provides the UK government’s scholarship scheme led by international development objectives. It supports the co-creation of research, innovation, and solutions to enact sustainable development priorities across the Commonwealth and beyond
Appointed by the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioners are drawn from a range of professional backgrounds and are responsible for selecting Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows, providing strategic and policy direction, monitoring effectiveness, and ensuring appropriate structures for governance and accountability.
Applications are welcomed from candidates from any background with a strong knowledge of higher education (in the United Kingdom and ideally other Commonwealth countries) and an understanding of development issues and the challenges faced by developing countries. Applications are welcomed from candidates with the skills and expertise to contribute to the selection of candidates for scholarships or fellowships.
