Alumni discuss future plans for the association

Commonwealth Alumni in Malaysia gathered on 23 February 2019. The event provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their peers, establish networking and partnerships, and further develop the Commonwealth Alumni community in Malaysia.

As part of the event, alumni worked together to develop a list of suggestions for future engagement. This included supported newly returned Commonwealth Scholars and showcasing the impact of their scholarship. Alumni were joined by David Thomas, Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia, and Sarah Deverall, Director Malaysia, British Council, who noted that ‘since 1960, over 630 Malaysians have been awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK. The alumni association will be an important platform for all scholars to reconnect with their peers, to establish networking and partnership, as well as to develop our community and country’.
