Launch of the Centre for Sustainable Development at the University of AberdeenThe University of Aberdeen last week launched the Centre for Sustainable International Development, an interdisciplinary hub for research and raising awareness in this increasingly important area.

The University of Aberdeen is home to six Commonwealth Scholars, soon to be joined by a further three Scholars and two Fellows later this year, from eight different countries – all of whom are studying and researching in areas crucial for the development of their home countries.

The event brought together development practitioners from several UK universities, experts from the university and several international speakers, and discussions ranged from the interface of education and development and the role of universities to sustainable energy, environmental management and maternal mortality.
