Gender and Sexuality

In 2023, Commonwealth Alumni were invited to design and deliver a Gender and Sexuality themed community-focused activity to raise awareness around and promote the rights, freedoms, dignity, and inclusion of communities who are discriminated against because of gender identity or sexuality.

Human rights in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity are a significant issue across the Commonwealth.

Coinciding with the CSC’s Professional Fellowships programme on Gender and Sexuality, and as part of the CSC’s commitment to widening access to the scheme, in line with the UN universal value principle two, leave no one behind, Commonwealth Alumni were invited to deliver community awareness activities to address sexual orientation and gender identity through a range of sectors and fields, such as health, employment, legal rights, and education.
