From exclusion to impact: driving economic development through disability inclusion in Ghana and beyond

In this webinar, Commonwealth Alumnus Alexander Kojo Tetteh will explore how disability inclusion can act as a catalyst for economic transformation. Drawing on lived experience and practical, on‑the‑ground interventions, he will highlight how inclusive entrepreneurship and employment systems can unlock the economic potential of persons with disabilities (PWDs), particularly from marginalised communities.

The webinar will showcase innovative, community‑driven models that support the transition from exclusion to meaningful economic participation, including inclusive enterprise development, employment facilitation, and self‑led rehabilitation initiatives.

Join us to examine how global exposure and policy engagement can be translated into locally rooted, scalable solutions aligned with national priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), offering actionable insights to reduce inequalities, promote decent work, and drive sustainable economic growth across the Commonwealth and beyond.

This webinar will address the CSC development theme, Access, inclusion and opportunity.

The CSC’s Development in Action webinar series provides an opportunity for Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni to present on their work and contribution to development across a range of contemporary global challenges and provide insight into ongoing research and action.

Open to all Commonwealth Scholars and Alumni, the monthly webinars will address one of the CSC’s six development themes and provide an opportunity for attendees to engage in real-time Q&A discussion on the topic presented.

You can watch previous webinars on the CSC’s YouTube channel.
